Obituary for Rose L. (Wojtas) Sims (Quinn)

DRACUT – Rose L. (Quinn) (Wojtas) Sims, 94, died with her granddaughter, Staci, by her side, on Sunday, May 13, 2018, at D’Youville Senior Care in Lowell. She was the beloved wife of the late Henry Wojtas, until his passing in 1986, and the late Albert Sims, who passed in 1995.

Rose was born in Chelmsford on February 17, 1924, a daughter of the late Mary (Lepine) and Timothy Quinn. She was raised and educated in Lowell before moving to Dracut. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Raytheon in south Lowell and Wang Labs.

In her free time, Rose was an active member of the Dracut Senior Citizens and was a volunteer for 13 years for the Dracut congregate. She also enjoyed sewing, swimming, knitting and spending time with her much-loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Rose is survived and will be deeply missed by her three children, John Wojtas of Orange City, FL, Nancy Reardon and her husband Brian of Merrimack, NH, Katherine Tarmey and her husband Leonard of Lowell; her son-in-law, Kenneth Williams of Pepperell; her step son, Raymond Sims of Dracut; her step daughter, Shirley Kostoulakos of Nashua, NH; her step daughter-in-law, Gertrude Sims of Dracut; her ten grandchildren, Tracy, Kelly, Kristy, Jason, Kara, Erin, Jacquelyn, Staci, Stefani and Matthew; her ten great-grandchildren, Nicole, Brianna, Amanda, Ryan, Lucas, Ashton, Jade, Christian, Benjamin and Ethan; her sister, Theresa Coburn of Bakersfield, CA; as well as several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by many friends, who became family, at the Saab Residence in Lowell.

In addition to her husband’s Henry and Albert, she is predeceased by her daughter, Joanne; her step son, Robert; her great-granddaughter, Sydney; her brothers, John, Timothy and Frederick; and her sisters, Gertrude and Mary Rita.
