Nancy J.  Katin (Slipp)
DRACUT- Nancy J. (Slipp) Katin, 78, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, May 1st, at Lowell General Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late John C. Katin Jr., who passed away in 2004.

Nancy was born in Lawrence, on June 26, 1939, a daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Allicon) Slipp. She graduated from St. Patrick's High School in Lawrence, from there she received her Batchelors Degree from Merrimack College. She furthered her education by obtaining her Master's Degree from Fitchburg State College.

She was employed by the Town of Dracut School Department as an Elementary School Teacher. She spent most of her time teaching First Grade at the Greenmont Avenue School until she retired.

In her free time Nancy kept herself busy she was on the Board of Directors for the Dracut Historical Society and she was a former Dracut Library Trustee. She sang with the Dracut Community Chorus, New Greeley Singers as well as the Spindle City Singers. She sang with the church choir at St. Francis Church at the 8AM Sunday morning mass. Last but not least she was a former member of the Klaxon Antique Auto Club.

Nancy is survived and will be deeply missed by her two children: John and his wife Lisa Katin of Pelham, NH and Kimberly Curran and her husband Christopher of Dracut. She also leaves her siblings: Donald Slipp of Atkinson, NH., Peter Slipp and his wife Donna of Methuen, and a Sister-in Law Geraldine Themelis of Dracut, her 6 Grandchildren: John (JD) Curran and Janessa Curran, Joseph, Charlie and Tyler Katin, and Cassandra Henderson. She is also survived by a dear friend Arthur Kostoulakos of Dracut and nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, May 7th, from 4-7PM, in the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave, Dracut, Ma. Her funeral will be held from the funeral home at 8:45AM with her Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10AM in St. Francis Church, Dracut on May 8th. Her burial will follow in Richardson Cemetery, Dracut. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nancy's memory to: Dracut Scholarship Foundation, P.O. Box 117, Dracut, Ma. 01826.
