BARBARA ELEANOR (SCHULTE) FULLER – 103 – A longtime resident of Tyngsborough, Massachusetts, Barbara passed peacefully on Sunday morning, January 13, 2019, at the Overlook Retirement Community in Charlton, Mass.. She was the only child of Edward Joseph Schulte and Jennie Ann Wood, and she was married for 53 years to Bowers Fuller, who predeceased her in 2005. Barbara and Bowers had two children, Gregory Richard Fuller and Ann Elizabeth Fuller Northrup, both of whom predeceased Barbara. She is survived by her five grandchildren: Kenneth Northrup of Grafton, MA, Heather Fuller Berry of Nashua, NH, William Northrup of Lowell, MA, Meredith Evangelisti of Boston, MA and Alan Northrup of Belmont, CA, as well as by numerous great-grandchildren.

Barbara was a graduate of Lowell High School and the Stockbridge School of Agriculture, and completed coursework at the forerunner to UMass Amherst. Prior to and during World War II, Barbara worked at Atlantic Parachute (later Textron) first as a supervising seamstress and then as the head of inspectors. Later during the War, she relocated to Beaufort, SC where she worked at Phillips Flowers while her husband Bowers served as a Marine instructor at Parris Island. Returning back to Greater Lowell after the War, she began raising her family and was active in the community, serving as a Girl Scout leader and Area Coordinator, as a Sunday School teacher, as a deaconess at the Tyngsboro Evangelical Church, as a member of the Tyngsborough Historical Commission, as a curator of the Tyngsborough-Dunstable Historical Society, and as an elected member and Treasurer of the Littlefield Library Trustees.

Barbara was an avid – and active – genealogist. She was a member of and an officer in numerous genealogical societies including the National Society of Mayflower Descendants, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Magna Charta Society, the Colonial Dames of the 19th Century, and the National Society of Women Descendants of the Ancient & Honorable Artillery Company. She was also a member of Puritan Chapter, O.E.S..

ARRANGEMENTS: In keeping with Barbara’s wishes, no visiting hours or services will be held. The family will instead hold a private graveside memorial.
