Obituary for Roland J. Gagnon

Roland J.  Gagnon
RACUT - Roland Gagnon, a Dracut resident and beloved husband of Lynda (Rawlinson) Gagnon, passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at the Life Care Center of Merrimack Valley, following a 13 month battle with cancer surrounded by his family. He was 72.

Roland was born in Lowell, on April 17, 1946 the son of the late Blanche A. (Malenfant) and Henry J. Gagnon. He was a graduate of the Lowell Vocational Technical High School. Roland was a Correctional Officer for MCI Concord for 15 years, Mechanical Inspector for Raytheon Company for 12 years, Real Estate Agent as well as a Van Driver for SP&R Transportation untill his retirement in 2012

In his free time Roland enjoyed taking vacations and playing cards. He enjoyed his local trips to Foxwoods and he was an avid New England Patriots Fan. Everybody knew him as a family man. His biggest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Besides his wife Linda, with whom he would have celebrated 54 years of marriage on September 14th, he is survived and will be deeply missed by his children: David Gagnon and his wife Michelle of Dracut, Lisa Gagnon of Dracut and her companion Robert Surprenant and Roland Gagnon, Jr. and his wife Holly of Lowell, his seven grandsons: Joseph Huntress and his wife Amanda, Bryan and Brandon Huntress, Adam, Ryan and David "DJ" Gagnon and Cameron Gagnon. He also leaves his four great Grandchildren: Brady, Dylan, Zachary, and Kaya and his two siblings: Roger Gagnon and his wife Theresa of Dracut and Diane MacDonald and her husband Steve of Goffstown, NH. as well as many neices and nephews. He was the brother of the late Richard Gagnon of Dracut.

ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to honer and remember Roland on Friday, September 14th, from 3 - 7PM in the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT. His funeral service will take place on Saturday morning, September 15th at 10AM in the funeral home.
