Obituary for Lauralee Comtois (Bartos)

Lauralee Comtois (Bartos)
DRACUT, MA – LauraLee ‘LouLou’ (Bartos) Comtois, 53, died peacefully Thursday, July 5th, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Michael Comtois with whom she shared over 20 years together.
LauraLee was born in Lowell, on February 12, 1965, a daughter of Wallace Bartos and the late Billie Sue (Deese) Bartos who passed in November of 2001. She was a graduate of Keith Hall high school in Lowell, and went on to receive her associate’s degree.

Laurie worked as a local bartender for over 35 years at various local establishments most recently at Owen and Ollie’s Restaurant and Ohara’s Tavern. She worked in the Dracut Public School system as a paraprofessional for over 12 years.

Laurie loved helping others and would always put other’s needs before her own, even when she was battling herself. She helped run the local Crosstown Brawl, and established the annual LouLou & Gookin Lung Cancer Awareness 5k. In addition to these charity events she was a board member of Mickey Ward Charities.

Laurie enjoyed traveling to the beach, especially her trips to Old Orchard and Lake Sebago. She had a deep love for animals, especially her many pets, including her Bailey. Her favorite motto was ‘every day above ground is a good day’!’, and she continued to live her life by that motto and inspired others to do the same.

In addition to her husband and father, LauraLee is survived and will be deeply missed by her two daughters, Meaghan and her husband Bryan of Husdon, NH and Devinne Healy of Dracut, MA.
