Obituary for John F. Kearns

John F.  Kearns
DRACUT, MA – John F. Kearns, 87, died Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Fairhaven Healthcare Center in Lowell. He was the beloved husband of the late Rose M. (Gibbons) Kearns.

John was born in Waltham, MA, on September 2, 1930, a son of the late Louise (Ouelette) and John Kearns. After high school John went on to proudly serve his country in the U.S Air Force.

He was a long-time bartender for Green Ridge Turkey Farm until it’s closing. He also worked as bartender for the VFW in Pepperell, where he also served on the board for many years.

John was an avid golfer who enjoyed playing a round of 18 with his buddies. He liked to do puzzles, play cribbage, travel, and most of all loved spending time with his family.

John is survived and will be deeply missed by his seven children, Karen Adair and her husband William of Ashburnham, MA, Cheryl Fournier of FL, Daniel Kearns and his partner Jayne Leather of Dracut, Steven Kearns of Lowell, Brenda Buckley and her husband John of Lowell, Pamela Cory and her husband Richard of Dracut, and Lyn Bill and her husband Edwin of Brookline, NH; his 14 grandchildren; his 15 great-grandchildren; his sister Judith Gebhart and her husband Lester of Lowell; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Rose, he is predeceased by his two brothers Arthur and Edwin.

ARRANGEMENTS: Friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 9-11AM at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, MA. His funeral service will follow at 11AM in the funeral home. Burial to take place in Tewksbury Cemetery, Tewksbury, MA.
