Obituary for Norman J. Perras

Norman J.  Perras
DRACUT – Norman J. Perras, 73, died Friday, March 23, 2018 at the High Point Hospice House, Haverhill. He was the beloved husband of Joan M. (Peasley) Perras, with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage.

Norman was born in Lowell, on October 12, 1944, a son of the late Doris (Poirier) and Norman Perras. For 48 years, he was employed at National Grid, where he worked in the service department.

Norman’s strong core values lead him to proudly volunteer to serve his country with honor and pride. He was a decorated combat veteran of the Vietnam War, serving the United States Army.

He enjoyed golfing, skiing, snowmobiling, fishing, and playing cards. He also liked swimming in the ocean and playing volleyball. Norman above all loved spending time with grandchildren who always brought him such joy.

In addition to his wife, Joan, he is survived and will be deeply missed by his three children, Michael Perras and his wife Beth of Atkinson, NH, Kirsten MacLeod and her husband Stephen of Pelham, NH, and Kara Perras of Dracut; his eight grandchildren, Abigail, Maeve, Braden, Mallory, James, Emma, Stephen and Christina; his four siblings, Norma Quinn of Dracut, Marlene Dowrey of Lowell, Judy Gendreau and her husband Edward of Derry, NH and Linda Lanoue and her husband Edward of Dracut; as well as many nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 4-8PM at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, MA. His funeral service will be celebrated at Ste. Marguerite D’Youville Church in Dracut, on Thursday, March 29th at 10AM. Kindly meet at Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Norman’s memory to High Point Hospice House, 360 North Avenue, Haverhill, MA 01830.
