Obituary for Gilbert F. Nason Sr.

Gilbert F.  Nason Sr.
Gil was born to Viola (Leatham) and Eugene Nason in Somerville, MA. He was a man of many talents, loved by many and will be missed by all. He was also a life long Red Sox Fan.



He was married for 61 years to the love of his life, Mary J Nason (Primeau). He lived most of his life in Dracut, MA. He also spent many years at his beach house in Hampton, NH, then his final dream home in Tyngsboro, MA.

He is survived by seven children, Shirley and Ted Rokosz, Mary Jo Gilloon Huebel and Robert Huebel, Sue Thornhill and George Montgomery, Sandy Supernault and Jeff Neals, Ghiath Alkourabi, Gil Jr and Julie Nason, and Dianne and Roger Larose. He is also survived by 15 Grandkids, Amy and Eric Keating, Chrissy Connor and Brian Delgado, Harry Milliken and Brandy Young, Billy Burnett and Whitney Garcia, Melanie and Casey Carson, Mike and Marisa Thornhill, Gil Nason III and Courtney Hondras, Brandan and Cassie Supernault, Scott Gilloon and Carissa Krantz, Roger Larose and Shayla Kelleher, Ashley and Steve Mayo, Kayleen Larose, Logan Nason, Erzi Nason and Kerri Saulnier, and nine great grandkids, Adam Connor, Lily Keating, Zoey Supernault, Adam Carson, Brian Gilbert Delgado, Aubrey Grace Mayo, Zander N and Angelina and Oliver Saulnier.



He also had two siblings, the late Shirley and Tom Nason.



He loved and was survived by in-laws Dick and Lillian Robertson, Bill and Jean Primeau, Rita McLaughlin, Anne Cashman, Alice Coughlin, George Primeau and Brenda, John and Ruth Ann Primeau and Joe Primeau. Also, friends Russ and Joanne Jolin, Dick and Karon Bergeron as well as many nieces and nephews and his god-daughter, Abigail Jolin.



He worked for Eastern Mass and MBTA and retired as a bus driver. He was a life long member of local Union 589. He coached and was an Umpire for Dracut Little League for many years. He was a call fire fighter for Dracut under the direction of Chief Gerald Carle, and attended the Fire fighters academy in Keene, NH.



He was the founder and owner of many business including Nason’s Quick Mart, G & G Quick Bite Pizza, both in Dracut, Lil Peach in Billerica and Getty Quick Mart in Augusta, ME. He also owned several greyhounds at Seabrook Greyhound park, including SR Wild Again (Connie).

ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Sunday, March 18th, from 1 until 4PM, at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut, Ma.
