Obituary for Timothy J. Hanks

Timothy John Hanks, 70, of Tyngsborough MA, passed away at his residence on March 10th 2018 after losing a courageous battle to cancer.

Tim was born October 18, 1947 in Greensboro, Vermont, the son of the late Maynard L. and Peggy (Botwright) Hanks. Tim was a resident of Tyngsborough for many years where he operated his own company, Hanks' Drafting. He was a long-time member and Past Master of William North Lodge, Free and Accepted Masons and was a past District Deputy Grand Master. Tim was decorated for his service in the US Army during the Vietnam War and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant before being honorably discharged in 1969.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and will always be remembered for his kindness and generosity.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Priscilla (Brown) Hanks; three daughters, Kristin Rider and her husband Michael, Shrewsbury MA; Melissa Hanks, Manchester NH; Emily Owens and her husband Alan, Hendersonville, NC; and five grandchildren, Julia Rider, Leah Rider, Ayva Hanks, Timothy Owens and Wesley Owens. He is also survived by his sister, Susan Morrison and her husband Edmund of Barre, Vermont.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Mass General and Lowell General Hospital for their kind attention during this time. Additionally, we would like thank to all of Tim's family and friends for their unwavering support and love.

ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday, March 24th, from 10-11AM at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT, MA., followed by his Funeral Service at 11AM in the funeral home.
