Plato M.  Levas
LOWELL, MA - Plato M. Levas, a longtime Dracut resident, died peacefully, Saturday, March 10th, at Wingate at Belvidere in Lowell, MA at the age of 90. He was the beloved husband of the late Jeannette (Trudel) Levas.

Plato was born in New York City on April 29, 1927, a son of the late Mary (Booras) and Michael Levas. He moved to Massachusetts where he received his education in the Dracut school system. Plato retired after 24 years at Brox Industries, Dracut Local Union 4.

His life was dedicated to his music. Plato played trumpet with the Chris Powers Band from 1955 to 1962, the Johnny Sisk Band (Revere, MA), the Ted Goddard Band (Manchester, NH), the Continentals Big Band, The Comeback Kids Chelmsford Senior Band and loved playing and talking with George Kondos. Plato especially enjoyed traveling with his wife, Jeannette, and spending winters in Daytona Beach Shores, Florida.

Plato is survived by his niece, Jean English and her husband Joe of Andover, MA; three nephews, Michael Baltoumas and his daughter Jennifer of NH, Michael Levas of Florida, and Rev. George Tsoukalas of Billerica; a grandnephew Kosta Levas and his wife Donna of Watertown, MA; dear cousins, Kiki Malaphais of Dracut, Robert and Paulette Trudel of Chelmsford, MA; godchild, Nicole Richards Sheehan; and good friend, Mark Welcome, to whom Plato was particularly thankful for all that he did the last 7 years.

He was predeceased by his wife, Jeannette Trudel, to whom he was married for 50 years before her passing in 2009; two brothers, Xerxes (Zike) and Charlie Levas; and three sisters, Dorothy (Levas) Balthoumas, Stella Tsoukalas, and Sylvia Jolias.

ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on THURSDAY, March 15th from 4 - 7 p.m. at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut, MA. His Funeral Service will be held FRIDAY, March 16th at 10 a.m. at Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church, 1160 Mammoth Rd., Dracut, MA. Burial to follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Chelmsford, MA.
