Obituary for Alphonse J. Lanteigne

DRACUT, MA – Alphonse J. Lanteigne, 88, died peacefully at home, Saturday, February 10, 2018, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Fay D. (Harriman) Lanteigne, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.



Born in Lowell, MA on October 13, 1929, he was the son of the late Emma (Gionet) and Joseph M. Lanteigne. After graduating high school Alphonse joined the U.S. Navy, where he proudly went on to serve during the Korean conflict.



He worked as a cement mason foreman for Turner Construction Company, where one of his best projects was working on the John F. Kennedy Library in Boston, MA.



In his younger years, Alphonse enjoyed bowling and was known for being a meticulous craftsman. He was a member of the Club Passe Temps and the Cement Finish Union #534.



Along with his wife Fay, Alphonse is survived and will be deeply missed by his five children, David Lanteigne and his wife Donna of Dracut, June Lanteigne of Dracut, Donald Lanteigne and his wife Sondra of Billerica, Cheryl (Lanteigne) Fyfe and her husband Doug of Pelham, NH, and Lisa Lanteigne of Andover; his ten grandchildren; his four great-grandchildren; and his brother, Ernest Nick Lanteigne of North Chelmsford.



ARRANGEMENTS: Friends may call on THURSDAY, February 15, 2018, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the LOWELL ASSEMBLY OF GOD CHURCH, 995 Andover Street, Tewksbury, MA 01876. His funeral service to follow at 10 a.m. in the church. Burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chelmsford.
