LOVING MOTHER, SISTER AND AUNT
Bessie (Contos) Bolianites, 87, died peacefully on Tuesday, Feb 5, 2018 at Lowell General Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Louis Bolianites, who passed away on September 26, 1984.
Bessie was born in Lowell, MA on July 15, 1930. She was the daughter of the late Gianoula (Alemisis) and Christos Contos of Lowell. Bessie was a 1948 graduate of Lowell High School and a member of the Girl Officers. Prior to her retirement in 1995, Bessie and her husband Louis were the owners and operators of the Cosmopolitan Market, a Greek grocery store on Market Street in Lowell for over 40 years.
Bessie was a devoted wife and mother. She loved cooking Greek foods and pastries for all her family each and every day. She was also a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
Bessie is survived by her two children: her son Charles Bolianites and her daughter Joanne Bolianites, both of Lowell. She is also survived by her sisters Catherine Natsios of Dracut, Effie Contos of Lowell and her brother Arthur Contos of Lowell; also many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and her faithful dog Sammy.
Bessie was predeceased by her sisters, Helen Spanos, Alice Koumoutseas and Panagiota (Pat) Karabatsos.
She was predeceased by her in-laws John Spanos, Chester Koumoutseas, Anthony Natsios, Antonios Karabatsos, Nick and Joanne Banakos, George and Helen Bolianites and Toula Bolianites.

ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Sunday, February 11th, from 1-5PM at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut, Ma. Her funeral will be held from the funeral home at 8:45AM, with her Funeral Mass to follow at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Lowell, On Monday, February 12th at 10AM. Her burial will follow in Westlawn Cemetery, Lowell. As an expression of sympathy, doantions may be made in Bessie's name to : Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 62 Lewis St., Lowell, Ma. 01854.
