Obituary for Robert E. Nielsen Sr.

HUDSON, NH.- Robert E. Nielsen, SR., age 66, passed away, Wednesday, January 31, at Lowell General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Linda M. (McAvoy) Nielsen, with whom he would have celebrated 45 years of marriage this May.

Robert was born in Lowell, on September 23, 1951, the son of the late Jane P. (Bocko) and Einar J. Nielsen. He was a graduate of Billerica High School. Upon his graduation, Robert went to work for Verizon as a Lineman, until he retired after working for 35 years

In his free time he enjoyed fishing, muscle cars and all the sports that New England has to offer. He also enjoyed spending time at his Lake house in Freedom, NH., but most of all Robert loved to spend time with his 3 Grandchildren.

Besides his wife, Robert is survived and will be deeply missed by his children: Eric R. Nielsen and his wife Carrie of Mansfield, Ma., Victoria Dombrowski and her husband Stephen of Dracut, and Robert E. Nielsen, Jr. of Las Vegas NV., his Sister, Karen, his Mother-in-Law: Patricia McAvoy of Dracut, Sister-in-Law and Brother-in-Law: Regina and Rick Demers of Dracut, Brian and Denise McAvoy of Dracut, and Walter and Alice McAvoy of Lowell. He also leaves his Grandchildren: Nathan Dombrowski and Christian and Savannah Nielsen, he also leaves close friends: David Alves of Rye, NH., Dennis Abrams of Billerica, Steve Dilworth of Southport, NC., and Paul McGovern of Tyngsboro, Ma., Jack McGuinness of Nashua, NH., Ray Deshler of Pepperell, Ma., Mal Anderson of Tewksbury among many others, and many nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS; Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, February 5th from 3 -7PM in DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT, Ma. His funeral will be held Tuesday, February 6th in the funeral home at 10AM.
