Pauline E.  Berard (Mercier)
DRACUT, MA - Pauline E. (Mercier) Berard, 83, of Dracut, died peacefully on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Raymond J. Berard, until his passing in 2014.

Pauline was born in Lowell on July 17, 1934, daughter of the late Blanche (Boudreau) and Napoleon Mercier. She was a graduate of St. Louis Academy and went on to work in many different fields. Among them, she was the proprietor of "Uncle Ray's Diner", worked as a home health aide for the Lowell VNA, and managed the cafeteria for St. Louis Elementary School.

Pauline served as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, and CCD teacher at St. Therese Church. She was also a former Red Hatter and part of the Dracut Senior Citizens Club. In her spare-time she loved to knit and crochet.

She is survived by her three children, Elaine Santos and her husband Robert of Westchester, OH, Linda Poulin and her husband David Finnegan of Dracut, and Sheila Destramp and her husband Richard of Hudson, NH; her 8 grandchildren: Christina Rutherford and husband Michael, Raymond Santos and partner Michael McFarland, Jason Poulin and wife Jamie, Amber Overko and husband Christopher, Lyndsey Vinal and husband Daniel, Patrick McMahon, Jessica Destramp and fiance Mark Mascaro and Christopher Destramp; her 8 great-grandchildren: Brianna, Colin, Jeffrey, Ella, Bentley, Paxton, Ian, and Raegan; her two sisters: Theresa Berard, Doris Bellerose and husband Gerard; 3 Godchildren Louis Laurent, Michelle Jordan, and Nathan Berard; as well as many nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut, MA 01826 on FRIDAY, January 19, 2018 from 8-9:20 a.m. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. in Ste. Marguerite D’Youville Church, Dracut. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
